I'm not sure what it is about hot tubs, but I love them - especially during the winter. They seemed rather prevalent back in California but now living in North Carolina, I can't find them anywhere. I know they're not the most efficient use of energy (maybe this is my , but photos of these hot tubs made from natural wood had me dreaming of a warm soak....

Here's a trio of hot houses from the Northwest USA. These were the MOST popular house tours on AT:SF last month. I seem to have been attracted to all the work spaces in these homes and find it interesting that crafting and printing are going on in them on a daily basis.

If you don't already know about our Fall Colors Contest, I want to peak your interest. For this week's northwest house tour special, I've chosen three very different approaches to living in the the Bay Area, that colorful, crafty, earthy part of the world. First comes Sausalito, the home of the current owners of Heath Ceramics, which shows off Heath's famous tile in all its glory...
It's so late and I am w o r k e d. I don't go to movies very often, but tonight a friend talked me into going to see The Dark Knight. OMG. It gave me heart palpitations. With all due respect to the movie makers, this is not the kind of movie I need more of in my life. Though, I do have to admit to liking the interior design of Bruce Wayne's digs...
Here's this week's pick of the litter that will inspire you with hundreds of cool design ideas and resources. These three house tours are faves of mine for totally different reasons. The top one, AB Chao, is actually in Louisiana, but wanted to be posted to ATSF and fits in well the the vibe. It's a stunner that has a particularly nice indoor/outdoor feel. Todd and Nicole are industrial chic and you have to check out how thoroughly they've worked Army & Navy castoffs into their home. Finally, Monique and Richard's place has the best artwork, and I love the rough walls. Enjoy!
Today it's a Wednesday, time to go into what we do best and pull out the tastiest, most interesting house tours for your enjoyment. These are hand picked from the Bay Area (and one from New Orleans of all places...)....
