Probably the most unusual element of her redesign was a fine art video made by Kimberlee Koym-Murteira projected on the ceiling. The theme of the experimental film was dark garden and it worked beautifully with other changes that were part of the redesign. The sound in the video came on when a visitor closed the door to the powder room and it stopped when the person left.
On the dark walls of the room, together with a decorative painter Ted Somogyi of Probert Art, they drew giant flowers with oil pastels. It has a similar quality to a chalk drawing. Nature is often Anastasia's main inspiration in her work. The scones filled with white tulips, the theme of the film, and the wall art are connected through the garden theme.
The sink came from one of our favorite stores in the Bay Area - Urban Ore in Berkeley. Because of its small size it fits perfectly in the corner. The vanity was a custom design. It is made of cold roll steel. The edge was decorated with 10 cent screw heads. The light fixture is a French vintage piece that was recreated by a lighting designer Jim Misner. He also made the bud vases that Susie highlighted in her post.
The biggest splurge was the silk taffeta around the custom made vanity. It came from Silk Trading Company if anyone is interested in achieving a similar look.
Overall the transformation was done on a very limited budged. Also the small space forced Anastasia to be very creative with her redesign. Check out the Faiella Design website for more information.

It's sort of Morticia Adam's bathroom isn't it?

Those mardi gras beads hanging off of the flower sconces really cement this onto the don't list.

The thing I love about this bathroom design (and Apartment Therapy) is its celebration of creativity and orginality. I have never seen an etheral video projected on a ceiling like this, accompanied with ambiant music no less. Maybe some of the previous commentators prefer tulips rendered ala Pottery Barn, but not me. I think this design is fantastic. Anastasia Faiella really did put the "POW" in this powder room.

I love the color of this bedroom and the idea behind it. I also like that it isn't the play it safe type of room that seems to pop up on AT a lot. The window covering gave me the nudge I needed for my own dark room. It's been a pia trying to figure out how to cover six windows without looking yucky and now I know what I want to do with them. Thanks for posting this one

I have to say that dark colors in small spaces always scared me in every sense of the word, but thumbs up for this design that brings many ideas together and shows me that a powder can be different than cream/beige... oh ! loved the film idea too, very creative.

"forced A. to be very creative" to say the least. It's so theatrical...in a very good way. I'd say Anastasia works very well under pressure.
