AT,
I'm about to move from a spacious one-bedroom to a 400 sq ft studio. Storage is definitely going to be an issue. Can anyone recommend a good storage bed? I don't want to downsize my queen bed, but I'm going to have to find a way to inconspicuously keep linens and infrequently used items underneath it.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I decided I didn't want to spend money on a storage bed, so I put my mattress/box spring on risers, then disguised everything underneath by using two bed skirts from Bed Bath & Beyond. One goes over the box spring (like normal) and the other one goes over the bed frame so that it just skims the floor (I forgot what the drop length was, but I measured it out and made sure it would meet the floor perfectly). It looks great. The fabric is black velvet, so especially with a coverlet on the bed, you can't tell there are two bed skirts, plus the color gives the illusion the bed isn't quite so high and just floats off the ground.

You could always do plastic under the bed storage boxes and hide everything with a dust ruffle. It's at least easy and cheap until you find the perfect bed.

I made two wooden (plywood) drawers on wheels that are a bit shorter than the width of the bed. This keeps them out of sight.
The front and rear are slanted to match the slant of the legs of the bed.
The drawers are pretty strong, even though the plywood is only 1/4 in thick.

If you're looking for something for only a few years that you can replace later, this one from IKEA works ok.

I haven't bought the storage box but I have a similar model for the bed.. I've been happy with it and comes in a Queen.
