Over the holiday weekend, we were suddenly struck by a desire to laze around, eat bon-bons, and flip through inspirational interior design magazines. We went to a couple of the places listed below, and to a couple that aren't listed because they had nothing more exotic than MetHome and Domino. It got us thinking about just where the best places are in the Bay Area to find good magazines.
Do tell, where do you go for a great selection of shelter mags? (And, on a side note, has anyone managed to track down a copy of VT Wonen locally?)

In Oakland - Issues (20 Glen Ave.)

Smoke Signals is one of the things I miss most about my old neighborhood since moving to Oakland... I'll have to give Issues a try.

De Lauer's Super Newsstand, on Broadway between 13th and 14th Streets in downtown Oakland, sells Elle Decoration and Living etc., among others.

Cafe de la Presse, 352 Grant Avenue, right by the gate to Chinatown. Their selection is very small but diverse, from multiple countries. Fun to flip through photos even if you can't read the text. (Food and coffee is good too!)

I second Good News on 24th. Its the only place I can find "Old-House Interiors," with which I'm completely obsessed.
