We admit it. We jumped on the poster bandwagon, snapping up our very own Keep Calm and Carry On print (it hasn't made its way out of the tube it was shipped in...). We barely sneaked by For Like Ever but made it past the We Are So Good Together wave. Despite our best efforts we're not sure we can steer clear of our latest blog-fueled obsession...

I have loved spoons for a looooong time. My keychain is bent handle of a spoon that I received as a gift about...OMG...20 years ago! I can't believe I haven't lost it yet!!!
I also just bought this.
Yeah, I dig spoons.

I can't lie -- I bought the "Keep Calm and Carry On" poster (and, honestly absolutely love it. When I come home from work, still stressed, it makes me just... breathe)

I totally have a 'Keep Calm' poster. I didn't realize that they were as popular as they are, although I totally should have!
I love tiny spoons. I like to eat all my food with tiny utensils if at all possible. I want to put those wooden spoons on my kitchen wall. They're so pretty!

I still love my For Like Ever poster. Its in my bedroom to remind me that perhaps things can be, ya know... for, like, ever.

Maybe sporks will be the next object to be fetishized. That would be hilarious.
Blog trends I've embraced:
- displaying fabric in embroidery hoops
- grouping artwork in an irregular way
- buying handmade (buying prints and jewelry off Etsy)
Blog trends I've rejected:
- Keep Calm and Carry On posters
- organic bedding
- wall decals
- Birds! Goddamn birds! (no, not everything needs to have cutesy bird motifs on it)
- vintage kitchen canisters (they're cute and all, but they're a dime a dozen and probably have lead paint)

My parents have had a huge (and growing) collection of wooden utensils that take up an entire kitchen wall. The collection focuses on crazy rolling pins -- that couldn't possibly make any useful foods -- and, as mentioned above, lots and lots of spoons. Slotted ones, deep ones, decorated ones...it's pretty incredible and one of the first things people ever comment on when visiting their house.

the it hasn't made its way out of the tube it was shipped in... comment is exactly why i try to resist trends. i end up with a lot of things i think i want, and then it turns out that the the thing i really wanted is to acquire things.

i just framed and hung my We Are So Good Together print and i still absolutely love it. haven't really jumped on any other blog-specific bandwagons, i dont think...
but , wait...SPOONS are really a blog trend?? i read about a million interior blogs each day, but i never knew that spoons were a 'trend'. are people hanging spoons on walls or just displaying them on their counters? that seems weird. i can understand how they'd looks nice if they're stored standing up in a pretty canister, but isn't that what our mothers have been doing since forever? what's next, knives? whisks?

Not one single blog trend appears in my home, and I intend to keep it that way. Why would I want to express my individuality by being just like everyone else?

I don't think the spoon trend will fade quickly, at least I hope not! They are just so functional, beautiful and collectable!

Brilliant. I'm going to put this on my blog.
