Blogging Canadian House & Home: Kitchen Storage

Canadian House and Home has a great online gallery of kitchen storage solutions, including this one: wall mounted steel cabinets that flip up to reveal their contents. We're on board because we like our locker-inspired IKEA PS cabinet that much.

Another favorite is this "appliance garage," an apt name for a cabinet dedicated to storing away space-eating countertop appliances.

And here's something we can do without a major kitchen remodel: pegs in this deep drawer keep pots and pans turned the right way for maximum storage.

I've never understood the need for those pegs. Couldn't you just keep the pots and pans in the drawer the same way every time without those pegs? What am I missing here?

The pegs are great if you want to stack dinner plates in a drawer.

The pegs keep the pots and pans from rattling around in the drawer each time you open and close it.

We keep our pots and pans in the drawer beneath the oven, and they stay orderly without pegs, despite the force needed to get the drawer to close straight.

I LOVE those cabinets. So many Ikea items can look cheap. A decorator friend of mine recommends many Ikea kitchen items including their stainless steel kitchens.
