Local homeowner makes good. When Oprah asked readers to submit their fantastic decorating ideas, hundreds responded. Three winners were chosen — including San Mateo's Kimberly Dellamonica. Nate Berkus himself paid a visit to her condo, which was featured in Oprah's magazine and on her TV show. Below are some of the ideas that Nate loved about her place:
- Mirrors are one of the best ways to open a tight space.
- Neutral is not another word for boring.
- Give small plants a bigger presence by putting them in large cachepots.
- When a miscalculation created a gap between the carpet in Kimberly's bathroom and its threshold, she filled the space with grouted beach rocks.
