Green with envy? Participants on reality shows always look so overjoyed when they’re introduced to their new accommodations. Nine times out of ten we’re not sure what all the fuss is about; frankly, dorm-style housing in a generic and cheesily designed ‘loft’ (read: soundstage) wouldn’t exactly make us scream with delight.
Be that as it may, this season America’s Next Top Model gives us a little something to grab our interest in the surroundings. The season was filmed in an eco-friendly mansion in LA, the green theme taken to a perhaps excessive level with a practice runway lined with tropical plants and bedrooms and common areas designed with plenty of wood and outdoorsy colors.
Other touches include a posted reminder to the contestants to take short baths, and the fact that they travel in a bio-fuel van with, apparently, grass growing behind the recycled rubber seats.
I love my ANTM, but I do find it a little trendy what they are doing - after all, previous seasons, didn't they have a hummer limo?? I'm glad they're going green, but I just wish it was more sincere.

I thought it was kind of cool (if a bit Draconian) that Tyra insisted that no one smokes. It seemed a little harsh to just say it so off-handedly (by the way, quit. Now.), as smoking is an addiction. It should be in the contract from the beginning.

How is it not sincere? They mentioned specifically that Tyra was concerned about ANTM's impact on the environment and so wanted to be better about this time around.

Also, quitting smoking cold turkey is the most effective way to do it.

Not to mention someone on nicotine withdrawal is sure to bring conflict into the house. Every season needs a girl everyone else hates/is afraid of.
