When I think of fall, my thoughts turn to the saturated colors of peacock, mustard and plum. While these are staples of my autumnal wardrobe, I have yet to make the jump to my home. In an ideal world (where I could actually paint my walls), I most definitely would have a peacock accent wall. It's so rich, so modern and so chic. I dug deep into AT's archives to find some of the best examples we've featured.
- As the winner of 2007's Smallest Coolest Apartments Contest, Laura used the peacock color to enhance and open up her less than 300 foot Santa Monica studio.
- MellieMell transformed her entryway/dining area from something expected and mundane to a room that really allows her accessories and style to take center stage.
- In this House Beautiful Kitchen of the Month, the powder-coated stainless steel cabinets add a needed pop to this simple and clean kitchen.
- Inspired by Gauguin and his Tahitian paintings, Mandi's Tahitian Blast room not only used peacock blue but also combined it extremely successfully with mustard and plum.
- In Douglas's Peaceful Peacock Living Room, Douglas used the vibrant blue to accent the otherwise neutral tones in this room.
