Color Palette Generators

073109 color palette generator.jpgInspiration for decorating your space can come from unlikely places. Maybe it's the sun hitting the leaves of a tree or a piece of art seen on a favorite blog, but we often take a picture or save an image from online in hopes of somehow translating it into a look for our home. But where do you go from there? One of the first steps to aid in your process is a Color Palette Generator...

Ez of Creature Comforts recently posted about this fantastic (and easy) version from DeGraeve. You simply copy the URL of the image you love into the top field and voilà - you've got a palette with 'dull' and 'vibrant' categorized colors.

If you're interested in finding paint shades to match your image, try this generator that Gregory posted a while ago. You take the results and convert them to CMYK using a color conversion calculator, then take the numbers to your local paint store.

Got any other color palette generators we should try? Recommend them below.

I have used this one: http://bighugelabs.com/colors.php and it is very quick. All you do is download an image and it comes up with your palette

I love the idea of this but even in the post above, the palette doesn't really capture the coloursof the photo. Same thing happened when I tried my own :-(
