Discardia

12-22-discardia.jpgOops. We missed the first day of Discardia.

You may already know that Dinah Sanders created a floating holiday to celebrate letting go. She writes:

Discardia is celebrated by getting rid of stuff and ideas you no longer need. It's about letting go, abdicating from obligation and guilt, being true to the self you are now. Discardia is the time to get rid of things that no longer add value to your life, shed bad habits, let go of emotional baggage and generally lighten your load.

This time Discardia runs until January 18 -- it's a pretty good way to end 2006 and begin 2007. So if you missed The Cure, or you just need a little push during this hectic holiday season, take a look at Dinah's daily Discardian. It offers "One tip every day to help you let go of all that crap in your way."

Woohoo! I know nothing of Discardia (until today) but I'm all about it! For the past several weeks I've been itching to clean out my closet. I think between the holidays I'll do just that and my local Freecycle group will be the beneficiaries. Happy Holidays!
