Boost of Color: Diana's Freebie Bench
Before & After

101209bench1.jpgDiana from Oh...My Bag! rescued this promising retro bench from a rainstorm and chose a bright, vibrant fabric for its makeover. Perfect for Room for Color month! Check out the results, along with another one of Diana's colorful projects, after the jump...

Wow! We love the contrast between the bright white and the deep jewel tones of the fabric. So much DIY ingenuity has to do with having the vision to pick out pieces with promise. After lugging the bench home, Diana discovered that the storage compartment beneath the seat was actually lined with cedar... what a great find!

In this pic you can really see what a great job Diana has done. Working with striped fabrics can sometimes be difficult, as getting the stripes to lie straight and match up can be a pain. But a little patience is all it takes!

This dresser/changing table was another of Diana's projects. She'd never been fond of it, having bought it in a hurry at the end of her pregnancy. But instead of ditching it for a new one, she got to work and came up with this:

Those butterfly knobs are so charming for a child's room, and the color choice, again, is spot-on. It's a great inspiration for those of you looking to spruce up your home with color this month.

The bench is terrific!

I liked the dresser the way it was before she painted it, though; the wood pattern was lovely.
