apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

I keep seeing these as toads crawling up a wall. Ick.

This was ugly the first time in the 70's. Some things should not be brought back from the dead.

Brown. Squashed. Toads.

Or worse.

Ugh.

aw, i see beauty in them myself. i grew up in nature so these remind me of walking in the woods on my own, taking in and contemplating everything around me. maybe if they were photographed better you'd see the beautiful patterns and edges of these burls. oh, well.

I would love to see what happens if these same mirrors appeared in a real interior in about six months... I bet you'd get a totally different reaction. Like a lot of kitsch, they need context.
