Chalkboard paint figures prominently in Tracey's entryway, and she's used it to label a small hook by the light switch for her keys. We think this is totally clever, allowing the purpose of the hook to be changed occasionally, like for a necklace or someone else's keys that they have left behind.

I love the chalkboard paint in this area- especially how it plays off the black and white in the adjoining room. BUT I would change the bisque-coloured dimmer and plate to white pronto. That's just me...

I am far (very far!) from a neatfreak...but doesn't the dust from all these chalkboards I see everywhere drive people crazy? Is there some new sort of dustless chalk out there that I've missed?

SD Panilt, unless you're using as much chalk as a high school math teacher I doubt the amount of dust will be an issue! You can also use a damp cloth to erase the writing and that will keep the dust in check AND give you a really clean wall. A friend of mine had a chalkboard wall in his office and he never complained about the chalk dust and he used the damp rag to wipe it off.
