Color Chips: Blues and Greens

5-23-08 color.jpgOne of our favorite color combinations is turquoise with a deep, dark green, but alas, we've never found an interior that incorporated the two harmoniously. Until we find a picture of this pair that we like we'll have to be content with other shades of green and blue, which, in honesty, isn't all that difficult to do...

This interior from David Hicks melds a couple different shades of green (we see green apple in the curtains and moss on the bench) with a great teal blue for the vanity. We love Hicks' willingness to use several bright colors, in this case adding the citron side chairs to an already vibrant palette. We think they are a great touch and help keep up a playfulness in the room so that it doesn't rely solely on the teal. Thoughts?

I love the green and white going on, but the blue and yellow don't really blend in well. I suppose that's the point, but it sticks out too much for my tastes.

Love blue & green as a color combo. Todd Oldham has featured this palette in his interior designs.

Wow, I just really dislike that bedroom. The teal color on the vanity is great, but the rest of it does nothing for me.

Ditto greenish. I feel like it's the Lincoln room at the White House or something.

This color scheme does not work for me. Teal and green don't really go well together.

I absolutely love the colors used here, however the design feels staid and uptight. Like nazrd said, "it's the Lincoln room at the White House or something".

Love the color combination, it's my current favorite. I'm incorporating touches of blue into my own green interior.

I love vintage style, so the mix of shapes and fabrics are beautiful to my eye. Love the round backs of the chairs, the beauty of the white wood on all pieces...the carpet is fabulous! I do believe there is a touch of the citron in the drapery fabric that ties the chairs into the color palette, but even if not there, I am a fan of contrasts and prefer nothing be too "matchy-matchy".

Love the room!

I love the colors in this room but it seriously reminds me of my grandmother's living room. Everything seems so matchy. But regardless the colors rock!

Kisses!!!

Wow! The colors are absolutely striking. There is something very soothing and refreshing about that palette.

I love teal and green together, especially in bathrooms. Reminds me of the sea. But I really don't like that bedroom. Too many patterns... Totally in agreement with the Lincoln bedroom... or maybe even a bit like Versailles.
