July 21st, Corner of Valencia and Hill Street

...but we could see any other warm, bright color working well in its place, too (say a sunflower or lemon grass with more yellow than blue). This color of putty seems to be cropping up a lot, and we like how enveloping and cozy it can make a room feel. The thing to be careful with here is keeping the hues from looking at all army-ish. To avoid that try and look for a light putty with slightly more gray than brown.
As seen at Spork.
These 3 colors together make me think of European auto racing. I could see this combination on a helmet or a driver's jacket.

It seems to me a version of this color combo is featured in the midwest midcentury landscaping redo feature below--a darker putty wall, orange door, stone/cement tile white?

Having a luv affair with a paler putty -- a mushroomy paint I mixed myself and then had matched in flat and semi for a few walls and cabinet doors in my mid-century style house. Mushroom plays nicely with a clear creamy white and charcoal black backdrop, and allow color pops which can change on a whim.
The mushroom is not beige by any stretch. It needs that greyed undertone to look modern.

I knew it was Spork! I took a picture of it as well because I loved the color combination.
