4 Things We Love at Heath Ceramics (Besides Tiles)

sfroundup012809.jpgWhen buying a gift we try and look for something well constructed, beautiful, and useful. While looking through the Heath website we were struck by the fact that everything they offer follows these guidelines, and what can we say? We started thinking of gifts we'd give ourselves...

1-28-09 heath 3.jpgThe shape of these stackable mugs reminds us of a rustic version of our beloved fire-kings.
1-28-09 heath 4.jpgThe tumblers above are by Green Glass in Wisconsin, and they're made from recycled bottles. We like them because they're some of the less expensive versions we've seen ($42 for four) and have a nice, finished look to them.
1-28-09 heath 1.jpgOriginally made for canning purposes, these Weck jars are great for any kind of food storage. And the small version is available from Heath for just $3 - score!
1-28-09 heath 2.jpgWe love that this beautiful casserole can be used in the oven then go directly to the table - less dishes is always good. It comes in an array of colors, and there's a bonus feature: you can flip the lid and use it as a cake stand.

I adore the small dessert bowls from their Coupe line. I picked up a couple from their factory store when I was last in the Bay Area. They're the perfect size for a pair of clementines, a handful of nuts at cocktail hour, or a single scoop of ice cream (on the rare occasions when I'm exercising portion control).

my sentiments exactly, Dayjay!

Please tell us where to buy ALL of them! Having only one would feel like the rest of the family is missing.

I love everything Heath does. It is all even better in person because everything just feels right.

I have those tumblers and they've become the only glasses I ever use really.

We just purchased a couple gifts from Heath and felt so good about it! Especially since the recipients were on the East Coast and Heath is so West Coast. Love love love everything they do!

Looks like their site wasn't expecting all of us to visit today...
:( hope they get their hosting sorted out soon.

I loooove the Weck storage. I've been hunting vintage 'refrigerator' dishes for years, but these that stay securely closed look so much better

Dayjay and Hello Chloe - you can get all sorts of weck jars straight from the weck website (just google them). They ship from England in cases of 12. Cheaper than buying them through Heath. I think you can only buy the bigger Weck jars from Heath at their factory stores in LA and Sausalito, not online, but I'm not positive about that.

Oh, and I was going to say... I decided in college that when I bought something, I wanted it to be as many of these 4 things as possible: durable, useful, beautiful, and meaningful. I still try to hold to that (and ethical, too), and Heath definitely falls into all four.

I felt in love with the Weck jars. But traveling by plane, I did not want to carry a case to the airport.

I'm wanting to buy some heath dishes, but I don't really know what the colors look like in person.
Can I get some input on people's favorite Heath Coupe colors??
I'd appreciate it!
