Lego Kitchen

10.16.09 lego 1.jpgSo an entire lego house is amazing. Just, amazing. But perhaps just a touch of Lego--say just a kitchen island--could be a subtle homage to the architectural toy... Who are we kidding!?! It's ridiculous and completely over the top! But we love it...

10.16.09 lego 2.jpgWe can't really help but love the idea of covering a basic kitchen island in Legos. Over 20,000 pieces, in fact! The overall effect is quite bold, but not the worst thing we've ever seen! We have a great affinity for the building blocks, having had quite a collection growing up. It was always a seemingly unattainable dream that we might be able to live in the creations we so carefully crafted. Munchausen, two Parisian designers (Simon Pillard and Philippe Rosetti) thought otherwise and did it in their own kitchen. We are finding ourselves quite jealous of their feat, and absolutely love the outcome. Check out more images at The Cool Hunter.

Very cool idea. The bright colors work because the rest of the kitchen is so clean and minimal.

you'd probably want to put a clear coat of something on top, to prevent gunk from getting in the cracks.

I would love a kitchen of legos...

I take it the Lego House link was supposed to direct us to James May's Lego House? The Lego House has been dismantled now- all pieces going to the Legoland in the UK for use once a year- every year they're going to try and build something BIG

Cool to look at once, but if this were my kitchen, I'd want to stab myself in the eye and sprinkle lemon juice on it every day. Couldn't live there.

The giant mini fig head on the counter is a nice touch. Is it a cookie jar?
