Alan Vogel makes tables.
Wooden tables, as well as chairs and benches. This is all he does, and the designs are simple and elemental.
We like Vogel's furniture for the unpretentious warmth it introduces into any space. Like the big farmhouse tables you might see in a European country kitchen, these pieces are rustic, sturdy and inviting. But they're not antiques, so they're lovingly finished and hand-rubbed with natural, waterproof wax.
Vogel uses only fallen tree slabs and old growth reclaimed antique fir and pine, some of it as much as 4" thick.
His technique tends towards the traditional, with hardwood pegs and mortise and tenon or butterfly joins.
