Living hundreds of miles from my hometown means infrequent visits for family gatherings and holidays. Still, I often crave a taste of home when hosting friends for a big meal. Vintage serving ware makes me yearn for holidays at my great grandmother's home where her dishes were specifically made to serve deviled eggs and pickles.
Here's a roundup of vintage serving pieces found on Etsy that made me wax nostalgic for some pineapple and marshmallow laden ambrosia salad:
1 - Pretty Yellow Deviled Egg Server Dish from RagtimeDesign, $9
2 - Vintage Turquoise Blue Retro Lazy Susan Serving Dish, from VintageHaven, $28
3 - Vintage Sherbert Cups in Chunky Golden Amber, Set of 6, from bythewayside, $15
4 - Pair of Modern Stainless and Bakelite Trays, from RetroReality, $24
5 - 1960's Vintage Dinnerwear - Amber Glass Serving Bowl with 24kt Gold Daisy Design, from DecoDeli, $32.50
Groan. This just makes me WISH that I'd bought the cool vintage shaped serving platter that I spotted during lunch break. My reason for not buying it? I just have so much stuff...

Huh. I have amber dessert dishes just like those listed. We never use them, but my mom gave them to me when I moved out so, there's some sentimental value there. I haven't quite decided what to do with them (even though we did do the kitchen cure...).

Love these things. I also love relish trays. I wish restaurants would bring back the relish tray too.

I've always loved those deviled egg trays. I have a couple of vintage ones that I use for family functions. My mom used to have one of those lazy susan serving dishes...wish I knew what happened to it.

I had a blue egg tray just like the yellow one for my first apt, mid 70's. It had little hen salt and pepper shakers that sat in the center circles.
