Tabletop Inspiration From Grace Bonney's Wedding
Design*Sponge

01gracewedding101209.jpgAfter months of anticipation, we've been so excited this past week to read Grace Bonney's posts about her wedding on Design*Sponge. There is so much creativity and love in all the details of what looks like a fabulous party, but we were especially inspired by some of her ideas for tabletop décor...

The wedding, which took place on the grounds of an old mansion in Savannah, Georgia, had a relaxed and elegant country style that would no doubt translate beautifully to dinner parties at home. We can imagine some of Grace's décor choices working just as well for a twilit autumn supper as they did for her spring wedding.

Here are a few of our favorite tabletop ideas from her wedding posts:

• Gather together a mix-and-match set of vintage jars and bottles for a centerpiece. We keep a box of these in our garage to pull out for casual parties. Ebay's got a constant stream of them, and the Alameda Flea Market is another great source.

• Try a burlap tablecloth. The color of burlap is versatile, and its rustic texture instantly creates a relaxed, natural vibe. Layered with vintage linen or lace, the look is lovely for a garden party.

Enlist talented friends to help decorate. Even if you don’t travel in the same super-creative circles as Grace, it's fun to ask friends for help with pre-party projects. Grace's napkin rings, made from vintage wallpaper and wooden buttons, are an easy craft with a beautiful, sweet effect on the table.

Tie a scarf or handkerchief around a wine or water bottle to catch drips, keeping your table linens clean and adding a touch of color or pattern in the process!

If you haven't yet perused Grace's series of wedding posts, wait until you get home from work, go get a cup of tea and settle in before you click over here... there are so many lovely and inspiring photos to peruse!
