11-3-allison2.jpgWhat's your favorite color?

"There is a 16th century portrait painting in the Frick Collection, Lodovico Capponi, 1550-1555.

Behind Lodovico is a swath of green drapery that is just the best green I’ve ever seen (left)"

What's the best use of interior color you've ever seen?

"The interior of Le Corbusier’s cabin by the sea (pic below)."

Bio: Allison comes to us because of our admiration for Dwell Magazine which she help to found in 2000 and suddenly left just a few months ago to pursue her next dream. In the meantime, she has quickly leapt into a few new roles as both a design blogger for the NYTimes and as a designer-in-residence at IDEO, the San Francisco based design and innovation firm. Aside from starting DWELL, Allison is also an editor and author. She co-authored “Prefab”, and edited “Airstream: The History of the Land Yacht” and “Cheap Hotels.”

We expect Allison will be looking for the novel modern interior that makes a statement with color and prompts a debate.

This is the most beautiful photograph. What a smile. No background to hinder any of that joy. Love it.
