#58 - Leny's Great Appetite

Name: Leny
Location: San Francisco
Type: Bedroom single house (rented the whole first floor)

Why I use color:

Use of color will reshape the room. The color on the dining room will stimulate appetite for food. The use of color combination will make an elegant yet casual dining area that inviting and comfortable.

2 good color tips:

1. Looks your surrounding and the place that your visit. Design on the restaurants will give you some idea of how do you want your dining room to feel like. You can also go to some art gallery, museum, or even local furniture store to get some idea.

2. Each color have its own personality. Feel free to be creative and create your own nuance.

2 good color resources:

1. Looks your surrounding and the place that your visit. Design on the restaurants will give you some idea of how do you want your dining room to feel like. You can also go to some art gallery, museum, or even local furniture store to get some idea.

2. I recently found a good web resource: Color Matters. There are some internet resource to choose the color that you like. You can go to specific paint brand's website to get some idea also.

It's a nice space but I don't find it particularly inventive. Perhaps a block of color behind the mirrors or some bright pops of colored linen on the table?

There's nothing really wrong with this space, but I agree with maryj that there's nothing particularly inventive either.
Another view of the room (or adjoining room) would help.

I love the pendant lamp.

how bland and lifeless. I am so sick of seeing these rooms in the contest. I wish AT would actually screen the entries and not just flood us with bad style.

I agree that it is lovely but it is somewhat predictable. Otherwise, you did a good job of color choice, etc. and I think its a very nice room.

We all have opinions. Mine is that when one trashes someone's entry and makes it personal, one should at least list one's own damn name. It's a contest about color usage. If you're sick of it, dont' look. Instead, take a class in social manners.

Amen to Jackie (the original one)! And I agree with everyone's post but Boo's, it's a fine room just nothing out of the ordinary design-wise. Nice space, though.

How elitist, boo. And presumptuous--that you and Apartment Therapy have the same frame of reference on 'style'. Or that AT would actually judge any reader on ahving no style.

Style is not anonymously trashing someone's entry. Be more creative.

I don't post my real name either but hey, I'm not rude enough to comment on someone else's taste. But my mother always said, some people are like rice cakes, tasteless. I like the room, color is great on my eyes. Re: dining set..where did you get it? I'm looking for one in a brown/light oak color.

Thanks for all the feedbacks and critics :)

I bought the dinning set from a local store in Harrison St. in San Francisco. (www.www.loftlivingoutlet.com)
I remember they have the lighter color for the set.
