#59 - Skwerlie's Harmonious Loft

Name: Skwerlie
Location: San Francisco
Type: Loft, rented

Why I use color:

Color affects my mood and also how I affect others. In my clothing it can make me appear to be more feminine, more serious or any other emotion that I choose to convey. The same is true for living spaces. I wanted my home to convey comfortable warmth, I achieve this with color and pattern. Using contemporary and mission styles in a very modern space along with soothing warm colors makes mine a harmonious place to be.

2 good color tips:

1. When decorating, think about what colors you wear most and feel most comfortable in to create a similar feeling at home.

2. Don't be afraid to experiment with paint, it's inexpensive and can always be painted over with another choice if you don't like it

2 good color resources:

1. Nature.

2. Architectural Digest.

Your home looks very peaceful. The deck looks like it needs to be a little more organized.

While the kitchen and living room are nice, my first impression is beige. Relaxing and homey yes, a colorful expression, no.

okay i voted no because my first impression was beige... but then, as if when adjusting to the dark after being outside-- I did see color. there are many subtle greens in this room and an intriguing red/brown print? on the couch. er, can I get a "vote-over?"
