Five Other Uses for Tea Towels
studiopatró

Tuesday, we listed a bunch of different cotton tea towels for use in the kitchen. With so many great varieties of design, it would be easy to end up with a surplus, but thanks to their versatility, they can be much, much more than a dish drying towel. Here's a list of 5 other uses for our favorite kitchen cloth.

San Francisco's own studiopatró makes beautifully graphic, high quality tea towels. They realize that their customer may be so smitten with their towels that they end up with an overabundance of towels which is why they've listed twelve different ways to use the tea towel on their site. Here's our favorite five:

(FROM LEFT TO RIGHT):

1 - The graphic nature of most of today's tea towels makes them a perfect substitute for place mats, table runners or napkins for your next table setting.

2 - Tuck one in your belt or the waist of your pants and voila, instant (and instantly hip) apron.

3 - As gifts for our holiday party hosts have been a hot topic here, why not wrap a bottle of wine in a tea towel for a great double duty gift? Drink the wine now, use the tea towel to dry the wine glasses later.

4 - Use your tea towel instead of a paper towel to dry your freshly washed salad greens.

5 - Double up your tea towel and you have a snazzy pot holder for whatever delicious goodies are coming out of your oven.

For seven more uses for your tea towels, visit the studiopatró site.

I recently ate at 2 new-to-me restaurants in San Francisco and they both were using tea towels as napkins. I love the idea.
