On a gorgeous, warm day like today, the colors in this room feel so refreshing and crisp; reminiscent of water without being depressing.

While the space above the couch could use some embellishment (and it sounds like flowers & machinery has plans in that direction), the room is no less inviting.

"reminiscent of water without being depressing"
What does this mean? Is water depressing? I think the room is nice enough, I guess. Those lamps make the space which would be drab without them.

No fair! I must know what color the blue paint is! I love it.

Looks drab to me - needs to be livened up w/ a brighter color and some art on the walls.

I love that purplish blue lamp on the bookshelf.

I think some colorful artwork will liven this space up a bit. It's off to a great start though...just looks a bit unfinished.

Why do I instantly feel like this is a basement apartment -- especially when it probably isn't???

I'm not wild about the green lamps against this particular shade of blue...but I'm not a big color mixer. A popping art piece is needed over the couch and maybe getting rid of those lamps all together or replacing them with white/clear ones.

I like it--it probably looks basement-ish because there's just the one little window high up. I'm getting ready to move into a basement apartment myself, and this is about how I'd like it to look!

The line "reminiscent of water without being depressing." is the most odd thing I've heard all day :)
