Flickr Finds: A Simple, Bright Bathroom

It's probably just us, but we might get a little freaked out by a bathroom with two large windows in it, for privacy reasons (we know, curtains, shades, but still). But the upside is a spot to get ready for the day where natural light streams in.

Part of why this works is that the residents have been unafraid to place the little storage tower in front of a window, resting a plant on top. Likewise, the shower curtain overlaps the window, which we bet makes an invigorating light-box effect.

I miss having a window in the bathroom. I haven't had one since I lived on the other side of the country... 4 years ago. Sigh.

The window doesn't bother me...
...it's that the bathroom is so crowded and the pipe in the corner needs a paintjob desperately.

I agree the bathroom is a little crowded but I would take a bathroom with 2 standard windows (without the window bars that were put on apartments) and that simplicity any day.

Two words: window film. Let's light in, keeps snoopy eyes out.

Ahh windows in the bathroom- a longstanding dream of mine. Without them, it seems like the bathroom (and my towels) never get 100% dry after a shower.

I love windows in the bathroom (yay window film!) but I'm pretty happy with the skylight we currently have over the bathtub. For the record, I love skylights, but I think I'd prefer window...I think it would make our small bathroom look bigger and it's so much easier to keep clean.

I think big windows in bathrooms are pretty, but if the location lets in too much sun, it really makes it hard to put on makeup because of mirror glare.

Not a problem for the AT guys....but I've had to deal with that once as a female and hated it.

I would love a window in my bathroom since I haven't had one since I was a child. I'd probably put some nice window film on the bottom halves of the windows for a little privacy. I'd probably give the bathroom some new paint.

On the makeup issue, I'd set a space elsewhere for it just to have a window in the bathroom - LOL - since I don't wear it often enough to see it having a pressing issue in the bathroom. People on average do wear too much makeup anyways.

Please pull the shower curtain open for the photo, and maybe the rest of the time, too (except when showering, of course). I'd love to see the entire bathroom, and I'm guessing it will make the room look and feel larger and brighter. After putting up the window film, as lella recommended.

We have a window IN the shower in our bathroom...and I love it! For starters, the bottom half was fitted with frosted glass years ago, and I don't think it even opens any more. But the top half is regular, double-paned glass, and it catches sunlight perfectly in the evenings as the sun goes down. I love to come home from work and shower--with the window cracked just a teeny bit and the lights off--after a long day. It's very relaxing!

A window in the bathroom is a must! The window in our bathroom is above the bathtub, in the shower. There's a shade, and the marble window ledge is a great place to put all the shampoos.
