apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

We found this photo of a creative and colorful way to hide what you want hidden because AT:SF reader dityfleur tagged her pic on Flickr with apartmenttherapysanfrancisco. (We urge you to do the same with your photos -- who doesn't want a moment of AT fame?) She writes:

i finally had a chance to sew up the curtains to hide the equipment & office supplies under our kitchen desk. the curtain is a bedspread from urban outfitters. i love the colors and the yellow happened to match the yellow of the accent wall.

Thanks, dityfleur!

So, where did she get the desk? because that's pretty much what I'm looking for for my living room for the tv....looks like I could put a shelf where the cross brace is and then have the curtains stop there for an open floor.

nadnuk-
I found a stainless steel table, slightly different in design (not as sharp on corners) on target.com
That sounds like what you're talking about with a shelf closer to the floor.

I think this is also a cool idea to hide a dog kennel, just leave one side open...

That pot rack is from Ikea, I believe! It's part of the Grundtal line--I have a couple shorter ones in my kitchen and bathroom. Cheap, simple, and sturdy.

The table is IKEA. I have the same one in my facial room and made it look a bit less utilitarian by topping it with 3/8" bronze plate glass and velvet curtain on rings.

This table was found in one of their kitchen areas & has lots of options to install under the top - wire rack shelves ($14 ea. takes two units), drawers, cabinet w/ door. the cabinet or drawer option comes in both off white or black. There's also a coordinating wall cabinet that comes in off white or black. I seem to remember the cabinet option has a wheels option so you can slide it right under the table.

There is a coordinating sink unit the same width & length. Sink and counter are all one piece of stainless steel. You just need to add faucet and connect to plumbing.
