apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Flickr Finds: Emily's Happy EIK

2007_03_27_poppy.jpg

Emily (of walk-in closet fame) posted this picture of the cheerful eat-in-kitchen in her studio apartment and tagged it with the AT:SF Flickr Finds tag: apartmenttherapysanfrancisco.

For some unfathomable reason this was not included in the earlier tour of Emily's small apartment.

It showcases great color sense: we love the way her art, chairs and accessories play together: poppy red, pink, turquoise, cerulean blue, celery. Her colors brighten a small space without dominating it. We also love the contrast between the clean graphics of the poster and the fussy lace (paper?) that backs the glass cabinet doors.

Thanks Emily!

I've seen this poster before in an old issue of domino magazine. Does anyone remember where it's from? It might be cute in my house.

This is one of those objects that's become so popular it's included in the design objects drinking game (forgot what it's called) bouncing around the intarwebs, along with antlers, bright white, and Foo dogs.
But I loved it anyway, and bought the gold-toned version - I'm taking it to be framed today!

After a few years nobody will remember how painfully hip they were and I'll still have my pretty poster :)

And Emily, that color on your walls is gorgeous. Do remember the details?

Everyone take a swig! Love the pink with the aqua chairs - what a cheery spot for reading the paper with a latte!

Melanie

I too bought the other color which I thought was more subtle and nice...

What kind of a frame are you putting it in? I'm still thinking...

Scavenger hunt alert! it was in Domino, shown in Jesse Randall's apartment (of Loeffler Randall). I don't care if it's trendy; her apartment was awesome and a great example of accessibility.
