SF Flower Box Award: Stanford Shopping Center

5-5-flowerbox1.jpg
We stopped by Stanford Mall this weekend for a quick shopping trip and were stopped in our tracks by the gorgeous planters. Giant roses, huge amounts of yellow ranunculus, and more flowers than we can name in practically every color of the rainbow. You could make some pretty gorgeous arrangements from these planters, which our shopping partner speculated is probably one of the reasons there are security guards patrolling the grounds.

It's true, the flowers are one of the best reasons to go to Stanford mall. I've lived in Palo Alto for four years now and the flowers at the mall have never failed to deliver on beauty.

I agree with amylilah, I too have wondered over there just to look at the flowers. They are really quite stunning

I know!!! I went to Stanford and was a Shopping Center junkie for years... they redo the flowers every season, in fact they change them so frequently it's a little sad. It's been on the mental to-do list for ages to find out who provides their landscaping, because if I ever (OK, maybe in another life) had a project where I could hire them I would do it in a heartbeat!

segways... is that what those scooter type things are called? i always thought it meant that someone had too much money... what's wrong with walking?

the flowers, on the other hand, are worth the indulgence. beautiful! these pictures don't even begin to do them justice.
