Look! Carnivorous Plant Garden

2006_06_26_CARnivore.jpg

Plant or pet? June's focus is gardening and July's will be pets. So we weren't sure when to post on this pretty little container garden, snapped just this weekend on a tour through the gorgeous Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park.

If you look closely at the center you'll see the leaf-maws (yes, we pride ourselves here at AT-SF on our mastery of scientific nomenclature) of a small carnivorous plant. Those little chompers devour bugs...and other errant bits of flesh.

We wanted to use the macro lens but thought better of leaning in too close.

I love it! I have two pitcher plants that really hate the heat. Every summer they go into shock, I never think they are going to make it. Do you have any suggestions for carnivorous plants that like it hot (95 degrees and above)? I live in Tampa, FL.
