Look!: Modern Trellis

6-26-08 trellis.jpgIt seems like in most cases a landscaped garden is either two extremes - old English traditional or all modern boxwood sharp angle-y. This trellis does a nice job mixing the two, and is easy enough for anyone to make.

They've simply mounted steel brackets to the fence then threaded dowels through them. The roses are very traditional, the steel is modern, but the two together becomes something interesting and different. You can see more of these gardening tips online at Domino's website.

Perfect timing for this post. I've been wondering what to do to soften a section of my 6' privacy fence and I hated the idea of doing a boring wire trellis. AT to the rescue once again!

Nice idea for a modern trellis, but old-fashioned cabbage roses kinda undercut the modernism.

Are you insane? Only philistines believe there are "old-fashioned" flowers.
