Look! Woolly Pockets at Flora Grubb Gardens

72709woolypocket1.jpgWe've written about the Woolly Pocket Garden Company on Apartment Therapy before, so you've probably seen the super-swanky photos of their product, complete with hot models and equally hot interiors. But now's your chance to finally see this DIY vertical gardening system in person: Flora Grubb Gardens is featuring a gorgeous installation of a Woolly Pocket garden, suspended from the ceiling of their indoor space, just within ogling distance of a comfy seat at the coffee bar. Check out a few more photos after the jump...

The new vertical garden, lush and verdant, dangles over the heads of shoppers but doesn't drip or leak, demonstrating how it adapts to inside and outside alike. The pockets, made out of recycled plastic bottles, wick moisture from the soil and allow oxygen in, making for a healthy little plant environment. To learn more about the system, visit the Woolly Pocket Garden Company's website, or read Beth's post.

Flora Grubb Gardens carries the whole collection of pockets, $34 and up, and their display shows the various ways the pockets can be used to create custom gardens for your wall space. Really, though, the installation's worth admiring just as a beautiful garden design. You can find Flora Grubb at 1634 Jerrold Avenue in San Francisco, just off Third Street.

I saw this this weekend, it is amazing!!! If any of you SFers have strange lightwells like I do, the pockets are a perfect way to fill up the often unsightly wall space.

Come see Woolly Pockets in action at Candystore Collective. We installed ours last Tuesday. We have an exterior version full of succulents and grasses from Flora Grubb, and one for houseplants on the interior as well. They are amazing! I want to install a system at my apartment for veggies and herbs too. More photos here.
