String of Pearls Online Resource

7-2-08-bymail1.jpg
We had never bought live plants online before. But when a local search for a "string of pearls" plant turned up unsuccessful and our festering obsession proved unrelenting, we turned to Google. We typed in "buy string of pearl plant" and the first link led us to eBay. When the shipment arrived, we clenched our pearly-whites and cut open the box...

To our delight (and relief) we found a perfect, professionally packaged and unharmed little new friend. The seller, Drew's Violets, also included a tiny African Violet plug as a gift! Though we know that buying locally is always the best option when it comes to plants, we'll go back to Drew for the rare times that our local search is unsuccessful.

Hey! Thanks for this source...of course I decided I wanted one of these plants for my kitchen after seeing it here and I couldn't find one ANYWHERE.

Thanks so much for sharing. My mother's friend bought her one of these plants from home depot...but slowly, she gave some strands away and the rest kind of died. I have been looking for a place to get her a new one for a VERY long time.

No need to deal with the wait, packaging, and fuel miles from an online resource for a string of pearls. There are several nurseries in the SF Bay Area that carry these, including Westbrae in Berkeley, where I got mine. Also, if you get a little string from a friend, you can easily start your own.

I am on the hunt for this plant too. My mum's friend owns her own nursery so I plan to call her up this week to see if she's got any or where I could get one!

I've got a plant question I've been trying to have solved that I think I need to submit ASAP!

These are also available at The Dry Garden in Berkeley.
It's a great place to find drought tolerant plants.
