Sewers have some great stories to tell. We hope you enjoyed sharing your biggest sewing accomplishments with us, as well as reaading about your fellow ATers experiences. Last week's giveaway elicited over 70 entries, which made choosing a winner a real challenge. In the end, Lori won us over and you can check out her entry and her actual sewing project below:
"My best friend went through hell and back trying to conceive a child. After the third attempt at invetro failed, she tried a Chinese herbalist and finally became pregnant. My gift had to be very special, so I bought an $80 sewing machine and made my first quilt.
It won't get me on Project Runway, but I'm thrilled everytime I see him drag it around the house. And now I'm hooked and quilt all the time. I've gotten considerably better!"
Sewing is something that can be extremely personal, and we fully appreciate that. So a big thank you goes out to everyone who entered the Amy Butler giveaway.
Oh *sniff* *sniff* again!

Great piece but I was actually thrown off by the first sentence... I read "sewer" in its other definition: "underground conduits for transporting wastes..."
I think my brain locked up for a few seconds trying to figure out what poop tunnels have to do with neat stuff.

meltendo - When I wrote the post, sewage lines didn't even come to mind ... but upon reading it hours later, I was debating a switch-out for the reason you mentioned. Then m-w.com made me feel better when I saw that the seamstress definition was ahead of the conduits definition.
