We were a little surprised at the DWR item that most people chose during our Giveaway, but it makes sense: The Malena Chair is upholstered, it would fit into just about any home, style-wise, and it was the most expensive choice. If you, like MattPDX, were wondering what everyone picked, jump below to see the percentages...

...what about numbers? what i'm really curious about is how many people each of those percentages represents.

I imagine it has a lot more to do with price than versatility...the Malena chair looks a lot like (and may very well be based upon) armchairs available at many, many retailers.

Also, if you look at some of the choices further down, they are only really useful in pairs or groupings. A single arm chair, accent chair or coffee table works if you have no intention of buying anything else. A barstool on the otherhand.....

Maybe people were planning on selling if they won?
I, along with .6%, chose what would fill a need in my home, but I'd never spend 850 on a stool.

also, many of the items on the list would be strange choices unless you were already planning on purchasing a set or already owned some. I can't imagine many people need or want just one barstool. and your point christopher8 is exactly why I didn't vote for it as my choice. I suppose if you won you could try to persuade dwr to trade that one chair out for something else that costs the same (like two eames chairs)...

sorry jaclyn and valhalla, I didn't mean to repeat your thoughts. I must have been writing when you posted.

No problem!

In a giveaway, won't most people choose the most expensive piece of furniture? Either to have it in their home or resell it? I chose the Air Chair ($150) because I loved the color. Although I'm assuming many people want to win something that they would never have the money to purchase.

I was thinking about choosing the most expensive piece but then wouldn't have anywhere to put it & I didn't want to go through the trouble of selling it (doesn't seem quite right to me). so I decided to pick something I could actually use, the brushed alum navy side chair which evidently less than 1.5% wanted. I hope this means my odds are increased!

but I only have room for one stool at my kitchen island, hee hee. Would that be weird?

Interesting... thanks Leslie, for culling the numbers!
