Ornamented Life Lace Plates from Rose and Radish

6-6-08-laceplate.jpg
We are one of those people who scrub out the sink every time after doing the dishes, rub the sides with spent lemon rinds and arrange things just so before leaving to flop out on the couch. Perhaps that's why we're drawn to these decorative drain covers. Who knew?

Rose and Radish suggests that these ceramic plates could be used as a colander equally well, but we like the idea of a final touch after making the sink all pretty again.

$42 here.

Okay, here we go again. "We are one of those people?" I'm sorry. I just can't stand it. If you're going to insist on using "we," how about just saying, "We scrub out the sink every time...?"

Frankly, I don't get the whole "we" thing anyway. I know, I know, you're speaking for the whole community. But "we" doesn't always work. It's not a proper replacement for "I" in every sentence, and its incessant use is probably the only thing I hate about this site. Otherwise I think AT is fabulous.

Really folks, could you please adjust your policy and make it okay for bloggers to use "I" more than once in a blue moon? Please?

The royal We is a perfectly acceptable editorial usage; we think you should We early, We often.

I think if the bloggers could use "I," then some individual personalities might emerge, and it would be more interesting.

Also, I think that the drain cover kinda sucks. I do not see any functionality.

Let's see. Yes on more clutter around the house. Yes on more crap to clean. I think that means a big no on this.

(plus, it's hideous)

All form, no function. Thanks, but no, even though "we" also am one of those people who scrub the sink every time.

Who's around to look at the sink when everyone's sacked-out in the living room for the evening??? Two thumbs DOWN on this item... what a waste of money.

I don't see the point of this. Like K T G said, to me it looks like you haven't done all the dishes. I find it hard to believe that someone who takes pains to keep a shiny, waterspot-free sink would ever want one of those. This is in the category as toaster cozies. Except at least people made those themselves, and didn't shell out nearly $50 for one.

Bizarre.
