Recycled Tile Coasters at ReForm School

In our thrift store and flea market scouting, we frequently see vintage tiles that would be very cool in kitchen or bathroom tiling project. But we're renters, so such impulses are naturally stymied. Here's a way to put those tiles to use until we have our own remodel to let loose with.

Of course, one could buy these cute tiles from ReForm School, but we were inspired by the idea to use our own finds for the coffee table.

Another thing is to use them to put hot pots on at the dinner table (not too heavy pots or else you may break the tile as you set it down).
I never see cool old tiles at flea markets :( Guess I just live in the wrong area.

I have about 30 antique painted Dutch tiles and am trying to find a way to use them in an interesting way - any ideas?
