We are constantly dealing with our plastic food storage. We find ourselves endlessly having lids that don't fit with the containers, leaving us to wonder if the proper fitting lids have run off with our single sock mates... We also don't have copious amounts of storage, and are left wanting to hide our unsightly plasticware. But these new artist series bowls may ensure we never lose our lids, and we wouldn't even mind having them out on a counter or shelf where they are fully visible...
Two of our favorite artists have partnered with Delight to create these Artist Series Twist and Shut Bowls. Amy Ruppel, seen on Apartment Therapy here, and Matte Stephens, seen here, have each contributed very signature illustrations that now don the lids of these handy, air tight food containers.
Perfect for bringing lunch to work or storing last night's leftovers, the merits of a good storage container are universally known. Having a great design from a hot emerging artist on the lid? Bonus! They're microwave safe (well, the bowls, not the lids), will contain liquids without leaking, and are really, really good looking. Apparently, you can take advantage of free shipping right now, too! Yes, please!
If I had these I would bring my lunch everyday and show it off to everyone.

Very cute albeit unnecessary...Just find the lids to the old tupperware you already have, spend the money elsewhere OR save it!

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but haven't we learned that storing food in plastic containers is toxic in the long run? I switched to glass and aluminum a while back. And lots of aluminum containers come with cute design, though not as cute as these- perhaps the company can branch out? Or maybe the bowl-part is not plastic?

Yeah, I'll agree that it's cute. But it's a leftover container. It's going to be in the refrigerator until you take it out and use whatever is in it or put it into another container so that it can be warmed up for you to eat.
I've taken to washing the containers that I get when I buy deli food. There are four different sizes and whenever I need to store food (be it leftovers, excess cut onion, etc.), I grab the appropriate size, deposit the food into it, put it into the refrigerator, and get on with my life.
I suppose that I could put some doodad on the lid, too!

I had the same reaction, H L I. They do say these containers are BPA-free, so at least it's better plastic. The vendor web site says the bowl is microwave safe - but some experts say you should never use any plastic food container in the microwave, for health reasons.
I've written about the plastic food storage issue here: http://jdorganizer.blogspot.com/2009/07/reader-question-glass-food-storage.html
