Hmm, a pewter color might be pretty.

I actually love the way your room looks now. But a few other ideas are to pair a color that is popular with the blue/chocolate theme. What pops to mind is avacado green and pink. Personally, I think some avacado green accents would look great. But not really as paint. Also, not too sure about the pink. . . : ) I am not sure what too say abou the paint. I think a beige would actually be great (and I hate beige, I don't say that lightly). Or maybe you could pick up the tourquoise blue from the headboard and just paint your ceiling the same color, leave the walls white? PS, sorry about my spelling, it is the end of the day, I am tired!

A cafe au lait or warm taupe would look nice with the brown and the blue. If you do an icy blue, I would make sure it was on the warm side.

I agree with the other poster - a soft, light dove gray (with more of of pinkish/purple tint to make the color warm). Lovely room!

a pale pewter or ice blue would be okay for the walls, and I would add more values of blue to the mix.

Completely agree with the grey. I personally like Benjamin Moore's Silver satin or Eclipse.

I second the warm taupe color. It would give the room a nice warm feeling.

I don't know if icy blue would be the best choice for this room...right now it looks so cozy and I think if it was icy blue it might feel cold.

What about a nice grey color with subtle purple or red undertones? If you think it would be too stark, you could add a tall skinny white vase in the corner between the window and fill it with some of those really tall zig zaggy natural colored branches.

Any metallic colour would be great in this room. for a cooler look use a silverly gray on the walls, for warmth a butter golden colour. yellow tones always go great with blues.

Check out Benjamin Moore "pewter". It would look great, and soothing when time to go to bed. It is a soft grey.

If you want to cosy up the room, I would go with a nice light brown - take a piece of the Amy B. fabric with you if possible to make sure the browns are in the same family. This would be good also if you tend toward sort of more earthy furnishings, art, clothing even. If you're more a cool type person who likes silver, mirrors, the icier side of colors, then the light gray would be beautiful.

What a lovely bedroom on so many levels.

I would choose a lighter blue that goes with the blue in your lovely headboard and just paint the wall the bed is on (and keep the window woodwork white.) It would almost make the whole wall feel like it's part of the bed rather than just having painted walls.

I like the bolster pillow. Can you tell me the source?

"Right on" with the suggestions for gray. What you need is to expand the color palette you've started with the blue and brown, not simply continue more of the same. Grays and off-whites are an easy fit for that palette.

You already know the hues you like, so when picking a "field" color (a color that fills in the field behind your accents; in this case the wall) pay attention to value (brightness) and saturation. The blue and brown are medium and dark values respectively, so you'll want to go with a value that doesn't get too bright (and therefore too contrasting), and you don't want to pick a saturation that upstages that wonderful blue.

Stay in the medium- to medium-light values (no white), and stay fairly desaturated with the intensity. This explains the suggestions for dove grays, taupes, and pewters. White and black can work well as accents, used in small proportions.

Try Benjamin Moore Smoky Green which is actually more blue. I think it would go well with your drapes.

I love the way it is...maybe light barely there tan color.
The drapery on the window is catching my eyes everytime I see it. It looks too shiny and luxurious. I would switch to a natural material in the same color or a little bit lighter.

I love the silk drapes and would use them as a color cue. A hue very similar would be perfect for the wall. Take the mot your paint dealer for a match-up. Gee, I never thought there'd be so much beautiful light in Seattle.

I'm with the metallic crowd on this one -- but not paint.

I think you have a lovely bedroom, and the icing on the cake would be wallpapering the wall your bed is on with an exquisite wallpaper from Maya Romanoff -- perhaps Mother of Pearl, perhaps a pewterish Korekara... there are many possibilities.

A treatment for the window over the bed has me stumped -- if it were just a solid window, I would leave it, but with the sliders, it becomes rather busy, and would not work with the wallpaper. Perhaps very narrow metallic horizontal blinds or a simple translucent fabric panel stretched over a frame sized to fit the opening (linen, muslin, etc.).

Good luck in completing it -- it will be beautiful.

I have the exact same colors in my bedroom (with a little bit of sage green accent thrown in) and wanted to do something like Benjamin Moore's Atmospheric, however I think an icy blue or gray blue might make the room feel uninviting or relaxing. Silver, no, too modern. I'm considering a blue-green-gray, and Maude's suggestion of Kaitlin blue in her comment above is where it's at.

I have that Benjamin Moore "pewter" color on my walls in my living room, and I love it so much that now I wish I could paint my whole house that color. It is the perfect compliment for any accent color. I usually go with greens and darker greys but this color is really perfect.

I would do a light mango-orange color myself, just to change it up a bit.

I like the teal idea but I'd want to go bold like with the mango-orange that Sleggo suggested.

Leave the walls white and put some ART on them. I like the idea of something with some bright orange or yellow.

i love your headboard; how did you do it? all the info i've been able to find online on how to do that sort of thing have end result pictures that scream "sloppy diy", but yours looks great!

Too much brown already to add more brown to the space.

I agree with the medium grey suggestion - something with a subtle blue undertone.

I'd also choose larger-scaled lamps - something with more sparkle and style...
...and a faux-fur throw over the foot of the bed - and maybe a couple of accent pillows in a coordinating Amy Butler fabric - would be great too.

for the question on the headboard, i purchased a non-toxic, non-treated piece of plywood, and i wrapped it in about five sheets of upholstery batting by folding the corners neatly and using a staple gun. finally, i covered the upholstery batting with the amy butler fabric. the piece simply rests on the floor behind the bed. it was super easy, and i’ve done it for my guestroom, too.

Her textiles are exquisite, and it would look more sophisticated to have something that's not in a coordinating fabric by the same designer -- more spontaneous, and less staged.
