you can find a lot of great midcentury scandinavian lighting options on ebay. if you want something new i'd suggest the kartell suspension light. i'm thinking in blue.

The IQ Light is an iconic Danish design that can be configured in a multitude of ways; it's like grown-up Lego:

Unsolicited advice here but I think you should get your curtains lined. If they have a heavier liner, they will look alot better during the day since you wont have the big bright shape of the window behind them. It'll also have a more elongating effect on the window.

unsolicited advce, also: if possible, i'd move the sconce down to be a reading light. i'd also put the dresser under the window and maybe put two nice lamps on it. and i'd probably put a heavy curtain on top of a sheer. i don't know if a hanging light would work so hot...but if you did get one, i think this simple one from cb2 would be great, and very inexpensive:

I second the Eden pendant lamp from CB2. It's simple, beautiful, doesn't break the bank, and fits perfectly into your current decor. I hung it over a small reading area in the corner of my room and have received many compliments on it.

something like this bent wood lamp from sprout might be nice, and it's pretty affordable.

I would worry more about getting rid of the bench at the end or the bed, getting a beside table and more pillows
