Good Questions: Interior Designer?

11-21-goodq.jpgHi There,

I recently came across your website. I LOVE the concept!! I was also browsing through the Chicago site and read the article on Amy Lenehan's design i interiors. I was wondering if you had any good recommendations for designers with similar services in the SF area. I recently moved into an apartment in Pacific Heights. I feel as though I've acquired some great pieces but I need some help pulling a look together... objets d'art, art, paint, etc.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks,
Xochitl

Can any readers help out Xochitl with a recommendation?

This is weird. I've just decided that I need just that kind of service. I hope someone has experience with this kind of service.

Where are you from? Are you Mexican, by chance?

One suggestion when shopping for a designer, pick one whose own personal sense of style matches your own. When they adore country french and you want mid century modern they may be able to do it OK but I've got to think their heart is not entirely into it. I adore post war American modern. I suck at most everything else...

Hey Xochitl,

I'm not a professional interior designer, but I LOVE helping people decorate with their own stuff, and pull together things they have/find new things to work with existing elements. I've done my whole house (click on my name to see my living room, although the pictures are a little old and some things have changed since then) but have also helped friends and am currently working with my mom, who has a very different "style" than I do, do a whole re-model/re-design of her master bedroom. I consider interior design to be my hobby (I have a fine arts background, which helps a lot.) Anyways, if you're interested, I would be interested in helping you, and would be WAY cheaper (read: almost free) than a professional. My boyfriend is going to kill me if I keep thinking up walls to paint/things to change in our place, so I need to start putting my decorating energy into another space!

Hi Xochitl

I normally am not this overtly pushy about this but I am an Interior Designer in San Francisco that specializes in Residential, Retail and Commercial projects. Our projects range from small, low-budget redecorating for renters to full high end custom interiors.

Check our website out and if you like what you see, drop me an email.

Thanx alot. And sorry again for plugging my business.

Mark

I have not tried out fix design (aka Alycia Freeman), but I have heard good things from a very good source. Her website shows previous projects, and I think I will use her when I need it (probably pretty soon). I like her methodology.
