hi there,
i have this old steelcase chair that came from a hospital lobby. i'd like to re-upholster it, but one of the back legs is bent pretty badly (its a little hard to tell from the pics, but viewed from the front, its only the back right leg that is bent).
the entire frame is steel, but i've had no luck in determining if it can be bent back into shape - or if its even safe to do so. would you or the readers be able to help me out with knowledge, advice, or recommendations?
thanks, dan

My first thought is to take it to an auto body shop and ask what they could do with it. Car repair involves pounding steel back into its correct shape.
(But I'm originally from the Central Valley, where it's all about cars...)
Well, if it's not TOO noticable, you could just make up a story about how a patient in the psych ward threw the chair across the room because they didn't care for their oatmeal, so you got it for a real steal - make it into a conversation piece!
Just bend the darn think back yourself. Don't pay someone. As long as the steel isn't cracked the worst you'll do is break a sweat...
Just have a beer and go for it. Then have another beer when you accomplish it!!
