Good Questions: Maxwell-Like Designer in San Francisco?

book110508.jpgDara sent in a good question and is looking for recommendations. She writes: Hi - I LOVE the book! But still feel stuck defining the purpose of all my rooms and was jealous of the case studies where the author visted someone's house and helped them himself...

Can you recommend anyone is San Francisco that does this kind of work? If you don't already it would be great to train designers in The Cure to be "Apartment Therapy" representatives for you.

We don't train designers in "The Cure", but it's not a bad idea! Can anyone recommend a designer here in SF that does "cure-like" work with their clients? If so, please let Dara know in the comments below...

Seriously! We need one in Chicago. I'm having such a difficult time figuring out whether I have good flow or not, among many other things.

If you're interested in doing it piecemeal, I'm starting a "throw your crap away for you" service. That's a big part of the cure for some people.

Need this in LA. Seems to be one end of the spectrum (don't care who you are, super trendy designers) or the other (overly spiritual, need Buddha in every room).

Hi Dara,
I have a young company specializing in working with people to revamp their spaces. Specifically purging clutter, reorganization, rearrangement, and decorating. Ideally using what people already have in new ways and making minimal new purchases. While I don't practice "The Cure" officially (since that would be stealing), I do love the principles and try to guide my clients in similar ways. If what I'm doing sounds like what you're looking for I'd be happy to chat.

You can contact me at aisha(at)spacesha(dot)com. My website is not ready yet since I'm still new, but in the meantime you can check out my recent Fall Colors entry here: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/sf/northwest-22-spaceshas-heartskipping-colors-066511

Take care,
Aisha

Hi Dara,
I'm extremely familiar with the Apartment Therapy Cure and would be more than happy to help you along with it! I am currently considering a career move into interior design and am offering my services at student rates. My own home is viewable here:

I'm exceptionally good at re-purposing things that you already own in the best of ways. I am also very familiar with what is currently available at local stores in the SF/Bay Area and national stores online. You can contact me at helicopterhi(at)yahoo(dot)com. Good luck!
