Good Questions: Mixing Up Styles With a Dining Room Set?

7-31-xpand.jpgAT, How would you mix-up styles with a dining room set? I recently bought an Xpand table in Walnut (it's darker than the picture) and am now on the hunt for some chairs to go with it. My house isn't super modern so I don't want to go with modern chairs. I like to have some clean, modern furniture mixed with more ornate styles...

... I definitely don't want cold plastic chairs, or just hardwood chairs. I'd like to have some fabric or padding or something to soften up the look.

My house was built in 1929, and isn't a Victorian, but has oak hardwood floors, moulding and curved archways. Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks,
karen

Propeller on Hayes used to have the table; not sure if they still do.

Propeller on Hayes has that table. I was there last weekend on my routine visit of my future dining table (and coffee table and couch...)

We have the cody chair from crate and barrel. It's so comfy! and will look great with that table. We got ours in a red color, but it looks like they don't offer that anymore.
