Good Questions Revisited: Before and After Dining Room Lighting

Snowiye's Dining Room - Before
Back in October, Snowiye asked the AT:SF community for help with a good question. She was looking for ideas for lighting over the dining table. We just received an update from her and she sent along a photo...

After

We think the pendants done in multiples look great. The light and dark woodgrain pattern is a nice connecting touch between the pale blue walls and rustic fireplace.

Thanks for the follow up, Snowiye!

Very Nice!

It's good to see the results of our advice!

These look great! Are they by chance the Meridian Deco Pendants by Lights Up! ?

I was also considering these modern pendant lights for my dining room (or something similar) - they turned out great for you!!

That's awesome. The fireplace looks like it could have been a 1970s downer to decorate around, but the lamps make everything look tied together and deliberate. Nice choice!

I just posted a brand new light exactly like this one but with a white drum shade in the classified section. It's a Deco Pendant Light from Lights UP! (brand new in box). Email if interested: jenws8@gmail.com

Ditto on Janel's comment about melding disparate elements, but why black cords?

They come with black cords.

I have one as well with a different shade cover. The cords took a while to straighten out which was annoying at first cause it looked kind of messy. But all the kinks did eventually work themselves out and it looks great now.

I need to do something similar over my table. How did you hang the pendants? Where do they plug in? Do you have to run the wire across the ceiling and down the wall? That is what I will have to do, and I'm hoping it won't be too hard, or too ugly.

Those lights were a complete, welcome surprise and they really work.

But the description says they work well with the blue walls - the walls don't look blue anymore in the pics with the lights. Are they still blue?

Perfect choice with the fireplace.

Hi everyone!

Thanks for all your comments and compliments!!!=)

TyceH- Yes they're Lights Up deco pendants.

They do come with black cords only though.

Claudiam- I had them hardwired into the ceiling; I hired an electrician do that. The ceiling already has an electrical box from the previous pendant location (from the folks who sold us the house) about 5 feet away, so he just added extra wire to install in the current position.

Pixie- It doesn't look like it, but the walls were still blue when I took the pic. We just had the walls painted in BM Ozark Shadows over the weekend, so they're a pale gray now.

Great. Now add a piece of artwork and maybe a small accent piece on the table.

Great! Like the paint switch, too. Another vote for adding some art on the walls.
