Hello AT,
I have 15 small house plants and close to 30 succulents in starter pots that I need to re-pot. Do you have any suggestions in finding small, modern-looking houseplant pots? Most of the goods I've seen in the stores seems to be dark and artisan; but I prefer light colors & clean lines. The closest visual example I can think of is the BLADET line at IKEA (see pic).
They have drainage holes (important for succulents) on the bottom of the pots, so I think they can be used for direct planting, not just a decorative holder to hide the green nursery plastic containers. But can you think of any other retailer that carries more selections?
Thanks so much,
Spiffy

ebrown took me to the Long's on Broadway in Oakland, which had more pots than I'd ever seen in one enclosed spot. The plastic ones I bought were modern, though not as chic as the IKEA example -- but definitely plain and tasteful, no rustic qualities whatever. I don't remember the ceramic pots well -- my back wasn't up for dealing with them -- but my sense is that the selection was varied.
Don't try this at your neighborhood Long's. The one I usually go to on the Burlingame/Millbrae border does not have anything like the same gardening selection.
Target can have a pretty decent selection sometimes (the inside garden section, not their outside big garden section).
