Good Questions: What Do I Do With This Fuse Box?

10-15-fuse box.jpg

AT,

So I have this fuse box that I am not quite sure what to do with. I think hanging a picture over it looks awkward since it's so close to the wall. Any ideas? I am sure you savvy apartment therapy readers can help! Thank you!

Rhiannon

Rhiannon,

We'd suggest propping artwork on the dresser, one piece that's tall enough to just cover up the fuse box and then a couple of smaller ones next to and in front of it. (You'll have to balance them out somehow on the other dresser, too.)

Anyone else?

I would do two smaller pieces on that wall, hung side by side. One covering the box and one just to the right of it.

hang a picture stretched on wooden frame, like a canvas.

You could frame it! Maybe with some sort of gilt, ornate frame. Then you have access to it as well in case you need to flip the switch. : D

The green thing? I parsed it as art, probably because it matches the bedding so well.

I would think covering it would depend on how often you blow a fuse...at my house that's a pretty regular occurence :)

You could put another picture right on top of it that was the same size as the fuse box.

paint it to match the wall.

or, get some nice big lamps for those bedside tables and don't worry about it.

Maybe you could hang framed pictures on both walls intersecting in the corner, as was recently shown on one of the AT sites?

Put a pair of pictures on that wall and a pair of pictures (same size, same proportions) over the other dresser. Lo! Symmetry!

I have a fuse box in my hallway and I bought really cute magnets and use it was a bulletin board covered with postcards, pictures and my to-do list.

Thanks for the suggestions! Wow Leah I think your idea will work great- especially since I am on a budget and can't afford a lot of new artwork.
