I need some help buying a dining table and chairs. After a lot of searching, I have finally found a dining table (from CB2) and chairs that look good (I think) and are within my budget. I need your help to tell me if the chairs and the table look good together or if you have any other suggestions in similar price ranges.

are you planning to mix and match the two styles, or is it either a set of one OR the other?

I've sat in both of those chairs. The red one is really solid but very hard and has too much detail that doesn't match that table. The woven chair matches the table a bit more and they are comfy too, albeit slightly flimsy on top. Hope this helps you pick chairs.
I'd start over.
I'm always wary of woven chairs, especially if you have girl-type people over for dinner.. I've snagged many a favorite skirt or sweater on chairs like those.
i like the idea of pairing a sleek, simple table with more organic chairs. i would agree that you should not have 2 of each pictured. for a small round table, it might look too busy.
have you looked at the linus chair from ikea? it is a bit more refined than the ikea chair pictured. or the scoop back chair from west elm (even though it is a knockoff of the jacobsen series 7 chair) in white would be cool...
also, domino magazine had a spread that mixed stles of chairs and tables.
Hi all,
Thank you for the comments and suggestions.
Meredith - I love the scoop back chairs from West Elm. I was just wondering if 4 chairs in white against this dining table might be a bit too much contrast. I like the chocolate chairs though.
Could you point me to the issue of Domino that featured mixing and matching tables and chairs?
Thanks a ton!

I'd probably shy away from any variation of the Jacobsen chair (even though good quality knock-offs can be found for about $50-70/each). In my opinion, the the legs of the chair don't have enough visual weight or heft to balance out the chunkiness of your table. I'd lean more towards Meredith's suggestion to pair the table with a more organic-looking chair. A simply-shaped wood and woven banana leaf (or some other organic material like wicker) would pair really nicely with the table. These types of chairs are pretty easy to find at stores that specialize in Southeast Asian imports. And many of the chairs have simple, modern silhouettes. Whichever direction you go, I'd make sure all 4 chairs match.
Depending on your personal style -
Vintage Modern - I'd do a mix of different wooden flea market chairs all painted the same color
Bold and bright - all the same simple chair painted different primary colors (that IKEA chair that's like $19 - I'm drawing a blank on the name).
Four of the same/Uniform/Modern Clean - I'd also like taxi cab yellow with this table. Or apple green. Or I'd do basic Eemco navy aluminum chairs.
I agree on the woven chair snagging clothes. I think I'd prefer that red chair in yellow, but that's just me.

I just want to say that table is awesome.
I like the idea. I'm assuming you've already visualized what both kinds of chairs and the table look like in the space. I think the red chairs and the woven chairs go well together and with the table.
I saw a great photo in Living Etc. where a long dining table was surrounded by an ecletic assortment of wood thriftshop chairs, all lacquered in the same color. No two chairs were the same, but the color united the look and it was a fantastic bohemian chic look.
You could try mixing finds from unpainted furniture places and thriftshops for the same look if you want an electic approach and then spraypaint them all red. Just make sure the chairs are simlar in size.
