We use bags all the time, for storing stuff in our tiny closet and cupboards and in our car's trunk, for moving stuff back and forth between car and home, for taking stuff to various places (friends, library, laundromat, recycling center), for flea marketing.
But we're constantly replacing paper bags that break, so we're checking out alternatives. We like the look of Ad Bags from Seattle's Alchemy Goods. And we love the fact that they're made from materials that would have ended up in a landfill.

I have one of these and it's great -- I use it to carry all my climbing gear to the gym.
I also bought one of their smaller courier-style bags, and the quality of that was very nice too.
The seat-belt straps are extremely comfortable.

I own one of their smaller bags made of bicycle tires and absolutely love it. They're a great small business to deal with as well. If you're local to Seattle you can arrange to pick a custom bag up directly from their workshop in Fremont.
